MITS (Maritime Information, Technologies and Services)
MITS (Maritime Information, Technologies and Services) is an international cooperation network of research groups, users and stakeholders initialised in 2005 to boost and promote research and application of new technologies in the maritime sector. Since 2005 the network organises each year an international conference to foster interdisciplinary exchanges between research groups, private companies, users and stakeholders on selected topics related to both marine and maritime applications of ICT. Set up in partnership with the Shanghai Maritime University and in cooperation with French, Chinese and International stakeholders, the 6th conference MITS 09 will take place in Shanghai, from November 16th to 19th. It is organised in synergy with a set of two related events:
- « SOS » (Shanghai Ocean Symposium), sponsored by the Ministry of Science and technology, that will mark the official opening of the Shanghai Ocean Forum.
- The Sino-French symposium on technology transfer and innovation organized by the CURIE and SITT networks with the support of French and Chinese ministries.
